Learning Journey
Chinese New Year
This week the children in Foundation Stage have been learning about the festival of Chinese New Year. We've read the story of the Zodiac race, decorated our home corner and enjoyed tasting some Chinese food. In PE the children used scarves and our homemade dragon to do a Dragon Dance and in Forest school we made muddy Chinese marks and letters.
Winter
This half term in FS1, we have been learning about signs of Winter, creating art and having fun in the snow on the field!
Christmas Fun!
Throughout December we've enjoyed preparing for Christmas. We decorated our classroom, built a Christingle and performed our Nativity in the earlier weeks. The children have taken part in Christmas jumper day, had a Christmas dinner and visited Father Christmas in our 'Winter Wonderland' along with lots of activities within our continuous provision.
Festivals and Celebrations
There are lots of festivals, celebrations and events this term! So far, we’ve celebrated Harvest, Halloween, Bonfire night and Remembrance. Here are a few photos of what we’ve been up to!
Autumn
We have enjoyed looking for signs of Autumn, conker rolling, cutting leaves and having lots of Autumn fun!
Family
We have been learning about families this week, we talked about who was in our family and represented this in lots of different ways within our continuous provision.
Settling in
We have been focusing on the children settling into Nursery, being happy and comfortable in our setting.
